Biomedical science

What is Biomedical science
What can you do with a Biomedical science degree? What do you expect you study during you're degree?

Microbiology
The study of micro organism, how they survive and different attributes to aid their virulence.

Histology
This is the study of tissues and their structure, tissue samples are taken in the form of biopsies, then fixed and stained with specific stain to visualise different parts of the tissue. For example, there are specific stains to visualise the nucleus, cytoplasm and intermediate filaments.

Human physiology
You can expect to learn some human anatomy to great depth as it is essential to understand human physiology to then later understand the pathology.

Chemistry
Unfortunately, you most likely will have to learn some chemistry however, it is mostly to A level difficult.

Maths and statistics
Don’t be worried the level of maths does not go too high and is mostly applied maths which makes it easier to understand. From rounding to scientific calculations.
